Landscape Design in Lake Buena Vista
We plan your yard with you, not for you. On a free walkthrough we look at sun, drainage and how you use the space. Then we explain each option in plain terms, so you can choose plants, beds and paths with confidence before anything goes in the ground.
What landscape design actually means for your yard
Landscape design is the planning step. Before a single plant is bought, we map where the sun hits, where water sits after a storm, what you want to see from your windows and where people actually walk. The result is a drawn plan showing beds, plant choices, lawn areas and any patios or paths, with a short note on why each piece is there.
It is the right call when you are starting from bare builder landscaping, replacing beds that keep failing, or adding a patio and want everything around it to make sense. With sandy soil and heavy summer rain, a plant in the wrong spot struggles no matter how well it is cared for, so the plan matters more than the plant list.
We are a family-owned business, licensed and fully insured, and we explain every recommendation so you know what you are paying for and why.

What your design includes
- 01
Site walk and measurements
We measure beds, lawn and hardscape areas and note sun exposure through the day. We also check grade and low spots where water collects.
- 02
Plants matched to each spot
We suggest plants for each zone based on sun, soil and how much care you want to give them. For every one, we tell you its mature size, so a shrub by the walkway does not swallow the path a few years from now.
- 03
A layout drawing you can read
You get a plan showing bed lines, plant locations and lawn edges. We walk through it with you and label things in everyday words, not nursery codes.
- 04
Water and drainage notes
We group plants by water needs so one zone is not drowning some plants while starving others. If the yard needs new zones or adjustments, we note it and can handle it through our irrigation service.
- 05
Hardscape and lawn options
If a patio, walkway or border makes sense, we show where it fits and what materials are typical. Where turf is thin or struggling, we tell you honestly whether sod installation is worth it.
- 06
A phased plan if you want one
Not everything has to happen at once. We can split the plan into stages so you can do the front yard now and the back later.

Plants keep dying in the same bed
When you replace the same shrubs every year, the spot is usually wrong for them. Too much sun, poor drainage or roots competing with a tree are common causes, and a design fixes the cause instead of the symptom.
Shrubs are covering windows and walks
Plants chosen without mature size in mind outgrow their space. Constant hard pruning stresses them and the bed still looks crowded.
Water pools or washes out mulch
Puddles that linger after a downpour, or mulch carried onto the driveway, point to grading and bed layout that need rethinking.
You have plain builder landscaping
A row of shrubs and a strip of sod is a starting point. A plan gives you beds with depth, color through the seasons and an entry that feels finished.
Your HOA wants a drawing
Many communities ask to see a plan before approving landscape changes. A clear layout with plant names makes getting that approval much easier.
How a design project runs
- 1
Free walkthrough at your home
We walk the property with you and ask how you use the yard and what bothers you about it now. We also talk about budget openly, so the plan fits it from the start.
- 2
Draft plan and review
We come back with a draft layout and plant list. We sit down with you, explain each choice, and offer an alternative wherever you would like something different.
- 3
Revisions and written estimate
You tell us what to change. Once the plan feels right, you get a written, line-item estimate for installation, so nothing comes as a surprise.
- 4
Installation and cleanup
When you are ready, our crew prepares the beds, places plants according to the plan and finishes with fresh mulch. We protect your lawn and driveway while we work and clean up before we leave.
What affects the cost of landscape design
The price depends on how much of the property we are planning and what the plan calls for. We break the estimate into line items so you can see where the money goes and what can wait. If you would rather spread out the payments, we offer financing up to $100,000, with terms anywhere from 2 to 12 years and no penalty for paying it off early.
- How much yard we are planning
- A front entry bed is a smaller job than a full front and back yard. More square footage means more measuring, more drawing and more plants.
- Plant size and variety
- Larger container plants look full on day one but cost more than smaller ones that grow into their space over a season or two. We explain the tradeoff so you can pick.
- Removal and soil prep
- Taking out old shrubs, roots, weeds or tired sod adds labor. New beds in sandy soil often need amending so plants can hold water and nutrients.
- Hardscape and irrigation changes
- Adding a patio, edging or new irrigation zones increases the scope. We list these separately so you decide what is worth doing now.
Landscape design questions
How long does it take to go from walkthrough to a finished yard?
It depends on the size of the project and how many revisions you want. A simple front bed can move quickly, while a full yard with hardscape takes longer because materials and work are scheduled in order. We give you a realistic timeline along with your estimate.
Can you design something low maintenance?
Yes. We lean toward plants that handle Central Florida heat and sandy soil, group them by water needs and leave room for mature growth so you are not pruning constantly. We will also tell you plainly what each plant needs from you.
What is the best time of year to plant?
Fall and winter are easier on new plants because the heat lets up. Summer planting works too with steady watering, and the rainy season helps. We plan around your schedule and adjust plant choices to the season.
Will the plan work with my HOA rules?
We ask about your community guidelines during the walkthrough and design within them. If your HOA needs to see a drawing before it signs off, our plan shows the layout and plant names clearly so the review goes smoothly.
Can I do the project in stages?
Yes. Many homeowners start with the front yard and finish the back later. We can mark the plan in phases so each stage fits with the next, and financing is available if you would rather do it all at once.
